The public is cordially invited to join this important symposium, a valuable time of learning, information sharing and networking for those working and serving in dryland areas especially in the East Africa Region. This symposium is jointly organized by World Vision Tanzania, ECHO East Africa, and Amaranth Institute and will be held at the Naura Springs Hotel in Arusha. Registering is done simply online. The cost of registering for the Symposium is $175 USD or equivalent per person. This covers three mid-day meals, morning and afternoon teas, a banquet on the closing evening, and all materials.. It does not include accommodation or other meals during the week. Please note that spouses of a paying delegate will only be charged $100 USD equivalent. Payment may be made online in advance using the following link for registering OR payment may be made at the door on the 6th August, 2018 in the afternoon or 7th August, 2018 in the morning. If you wish to pay at the door, check the box ‘Bill Me Later’ while registering online.
Waivers
Each organizing institution may be making arrangements to fund some individuals. ECHO has a small scholarship fund for women to enhance a balanced number of participants. ECHO also waives the registration fee for presenters unless they indicate willingness to give back their waiver to support disadvantaged participants who seek to attend but cannot afford. For women applying for waivers to ECHO, please contact Sophia Kasubi at skasubi@echonet.org

However, if you would like to make a presentation or to bring a poster, please contact us using the emails at the foot of this invitation. We will send the poster guidelines. We need you to give a presentation title, 3 sentences about the presenter (biodata), and 3 sentences about the presentation content. Generally, those chosen to give presentations receive a waiver of the registration fee.
This Symposium will provide a network and training opportunity for those involved in improving nutrition, alleviating hunger and addressing poverty in dryland areas with special emphasis in East Africa. Three mornings of plenary sessions featuring knowledgeable and experienced speakers will be followed by afternoon workshops and discussion groups led by regional and international agricultural development workers and experts.
