On October 11 th , when the sun rises, all roads will lead to the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre in Dar es Salaam for the 9th Tanzania Health Summit, or known by its popular hashtag as #THS2022.
The annual event brings together around 700 policymakers, health professionals, healthcare investors, the academia, hospitals, innovators, insurers and scientists of various categories in health.
For three days, a hybrid in-house and online gathering will feature more than 120 high-profile speakers from a dozen countries in Africa and beyond.
This year, the summit focusses on Tanzania’s plan, named the Health Sector Strategic Plan Five (HSSP V) which envisions a healthy and prosperous society that contributes fully to the development of individuals and the nation.
The summit strategically comes ahead of the Joint Annual Health Sector Technical Review Meeting and the Annual Health Sector Policy Review Meeting which are scheduled to take place in November and December respectively.
According to the THS President, Dr Omary Chillo, the resolutions made at the summit will feed into these important meetings.
“Your participation will provide an opportunity to discuss and respond to a series of dialogues with regards to the quality of healthcare in the country,” he said.
Policy engagements at the summit will revisit the HSSP V in which Tanzania pledged to reach all households with essential health and social welfare services, meeting as much as possible expectations of the populations. |
