HOSPITAL RECEPTIONIST.

 

This role plays a major part in presenting the image of our organization as it involves a lot of interactions with our clients. We therefore require a candidate with a pleasant personality, understands the concepts of customer care, able to be firm without coming across as arrogant and rude to the clients/patients and communicates effectively.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Patients Data Entry
  • Receive all patients arriving at the hospital in office hours.
  • Provide a file with initial patient information for every new admission to the ward or patients being seen in Gynecologist clinic
  • Collect the files of discharged patients from the ward, and enter all relevant data in the Data base
  • Maintain order and a good filing system of all patient files
  • Direct patients to the appropriate department when they arrive
  • Keep good records of all Antenatal Clinic (ANC) patient numbers
  • Take and relay messages
  • Provide information to callers
  • Greet persons entering hospital
  • Direct persons to correct destination
  • Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support
  • Schedule clinical appointments
  • Control inventory relevant to reception area
  • Tidy and maintain the reception area
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor

 

      Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of a Certificate or Diploma in Medical Records or Health Information Systems. Any qualifications in Front Office Receptionist, Customer Care or Social Work will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of four (4) years working experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Strong computers skills.
  • Competent in customer service principles and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal Skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

 

ASSISTANT TECHNOLOGIST

 

Requires understanding of the Health Laboratory Operating procedures and guidelines, high organisation skills, working under minimal supervision, knowledge, experience and skills of tests performed in health laboratory.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To perform routine tests in assigned area of the laboratory as per current SOP
  • To ensure specimens collected and received are documented or managed properly before analysis
  • To evaluate specimen adequacy for test performance
  • To perform and document preventative and corrective maintenance, function checks.
  • To perform, evaluate and document quality control data and assure that patient results are reported when quality control does not pass
  • To ensure safe working environment in the working Clinical Laboratory
  • To perform instrument troubleshooting to correct problems
  • Refer client’s inquiries to relevant clinicians
  • To ensure specimens collected and received are well documented
  • Ensure timely provision of various reports to laboratory
  • To ensure valid results are verified before dispatch and are sent to the clinics/wards in a timely fashion
  • Draw blood from all Booking patients for Antenatal clinic, see specific booking blood request form
  • Be able to give appropriate counselling for HIV testing
  • Liaise with procurement officer on a timely basis for procurement of reagents
  • Maintain a Blood bank, with emergency blood available whenever possible.
  • Remain a confidential approach to patients’ blood results
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of the laboratory
  • Use universal precautions when drawing and disposing of samples
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences or Health Laboratory Sciences from a recognised Institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional work experience.
  • Must have enrolled licences with Health Laboratory Practitioner Council.
  • A proven ability to work in a team under minimal supervision, well written and oral communication skills in English and Swahili are also required.
  • Must be knowledgeable about parasitology, biochemistry, haematology and microbiology.
  • Strong analytical skills

 

DRIVER

 

The job purpose is to provide and maintain a caring environment for non-emergency patients and provide transport services as appropriate for the needs of the patients and transfers as required by the operational activities of the organisation.

 

Main duties and Responsibilities

 

  • To provide a professional and caring service for all patients whilst in the care of Medical Services
  • To ensure that at all times patient safety remains paramount and that safe systems of work are adhered to regarding wheel chairs, clamps, seat belts etc.
  • At all times follow Organisational Standing Operational procedures for the collection, transport and handover of patients.
  • Keeping the interior and exterior of the vehicle in a clean and tidy state.
  • Carry out risk assessments to assess hazards, then implement safe systems of work and reduce risks to yourself, patients and other persons involved.
  • Complete a vehicle check before every duty including the working order of the vehicle.
  • Report defects and deficiencies of the vehicle and equipment, and replace all items of vehicle inventory used.
  • Providing social care in non-emergency situations.
  • To maintain the vehicle and equipment in accordance with the organisations infection control policy.
  • Ensure a vehicle accident pack is kept on board the vehicle at all times and report any vehicle damage in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • It is of primary importance that the speed limit is adhered to in all cases, and that driving is safe and the patient is comfortable.

 

Qualifications and Requirement

 

  • Must have at least O-level (Secondary Level) education.
  • Relevant driving qualifications preferred from NIT
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a caring and polite manner
  • Must have a valid Tanzanian driving licence
  • 2+ relevant working experience
