We are looking for a detail-oriented Reservation Consultant to assist our customers with their booking needs. You will provide various planning and booking services, including answering customers’ questions, making travel suggestions, booking rooms and transport.

To be successful as a Reservation Consultant you must be able to work with minimal supervision and have excellent customer service skills. Additionally, you should be able to up-sell and have excellent knowledge of deals and savings available to customers.

Reports to: Head of Reservations


Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and accurately cost itineraries based on Agent or Client request.
  • Think outside the box, be creative, make every effort to convert the booking.
  • Making reservations for customers based on their various requirements and budgetary allowances.
  • Checking the availability of accommodation and transportation on the customers’ desired travel dates.
  • Determining clients’ needs and suggesting suitable accommodation packages
  • Selling and promoting Lemala services.
  • Answering any questions customers might have about the reservation process.
  • Up-selling, when appropriate, by informing customers of additional services or special packages.
  • Create and update electronic records of clients- Res Request & WETU.
  • Attend conferences to maintain familiarity with tourism trends.
  • Keep up to date with new products and experiences.
  • Maintain relationships with key persons/ Agents.
  • Reach the revenue and profit targets.
  • Meeting Clients.
  • Briefing Driver/Guides where needed.
  • Re-Check all files before the commencement of the safari.
  • Liaise with Guides/Managers throughout the safari.
  • Pass feedback on the progress of the trip to the Agent.
  • 24hours on call when clients are in country.


Position Requirements:

  • Experience working in sales or marketing, preferably in the hospitality or travel industries.
  • Technological proficiency – ResRequest system and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer-service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Data entry experience
  • Interpersonal skills – patience, a good listening ear, and confident communication
  • Flexible working hours
