KEY OUTPUTS:

• Overall management for &Beyond Serengeti Under Canvas, including operations, guest experience, R&M, kitchen, financial and staff management and development
• Direct line management responsibility for the Serengeti Under Canvas senior management team and indirectly for a team of staff
• Budget and forecast creation, management and control in conjunction with the Camps Administrator and the Regional Finance Manager. Management of the camp CAPEX programs
• Human resource management and staff development
• Infrastructure – development and maintenance of all infrastructure
• IT – maintenance IT
• Security – security, emergency response and fire control
• Healthcare – reviewing healthcare facilities and evacuation arrangements
• Environmental health – waste, sanitation, mosquito and pest control
• Logistics  – camp moving, set up and take down
• Government – liaison with local, regional and national Government and relevant stakeholders in conjunction with the Regional Manager. Compliance with local licensing, permits etc.
• Conservation – working with the Africa Foundation in conservation and community  projects and partnerships arrangements
• Sustainability – responsible for ensuring sustainability targets are met and improved upon year on year
• Risk Assessment – ensure lodge is risk assessment compliant
• Camp Marketing – management of the camp social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, etc. Ensure regular stories to the andBeyond team are distributed and that Serenegti Under Canvas maintains a strong presence in internal comms (Bateleur Mag, etc)
• Must be willing to travel to and from the various camps

HOSPITALITY

• Build upon the existing guest experience to create new ideas and to ensure the product remains fresh and modern, whilst staying true to the history of the area – this includes guest delights, accommodation, food, staff, activities
• Building relationships with new and repeat guests
• Maintaining and reinforcing an environment where the &Beyond Golden Thread and Brand Standards are continuously met and visible throughout the daily functioning of the property.
• Ensure camp to do lists are actioned and completed (within budget)
• Maximise efficiencies in procurement

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• At least 5 – 7 years Management Experience in a 5-star boutique operation
• Mobile Camp management experience is highly an advantage
• Hospitality and Service Training Experience

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Energetic, proactive person with well-developed concept of the importance of providing a world-class guest experience, and the ability to provide that experience
• Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation
• Driven, energetic, compassionate and ambitious, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Unrelenting attention to detail and high standards
• Structured manager with experience of leading diverse teams
• Practical with some experience of maintenance
• Experience in mobile camping and safaris advantageous
• Open minded and able to think outside of the box
• The ability to motivate and inspire yourself and others
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication
• Competent financial and IT skills
• Fluent in English essential

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• The role will be based at Serengeti Under Canvas Camps – which are mobile camps in the Serengeti
• Salary and benefits – TBC
• Medical and travel allowance as per andBeyond policy

This is a permanent live-in position, based in Serengeti, Tanzania
