The position

The Finance and Accounting Intern is providing assistance to the senior accountant and Assistant Accountant. Tasks include petty cash handling, posting vouchers, bills payment, filing of vouchers and  other documents, customers payment collection and depositing, making simple invoices and other duties as assigned by the supervisor. We expect it to be a broad learning experience for the person selected.

The intern will also work extensively together with our Stores department and will report directly to the Senior Accountant and Accounts assistant of Power Providers. Visits to different institutions in Arusha will also be part of the job.

Requirements

Power Providers is looking for a Finance and Accounting intern with at least the following qualifications:

• Studying for a degree in Accounting (or similar)
• Exposure to the  QuickBooks online accounting package preferable
• well structured in work
• being able to stay professional at all times even under high stress
• good customer service and responsiveness
• good knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel
• good spoken and written English
