Job Vacancy: Guest Relations and Head Waiter

A hotel in Karatu and Arusha town is looking to recruit the following;

Guest Relations Officer- Arusha and Karatu

Responsibilities

  1. Provide upscale guest service experiences for clients throughout their stay
  2. Ensure clients are properly greeted upon their arrival
  3. Monitor daily bookings and ensure assigned rooms are prepared prior to check-in
  4. Coordinate luggage collection and storage
  5. Oversee check-in and check-out procedures, including reservations and financial transactions
  6. Promptly address guests’ requests, like in-room dining
  7. Actively listen to and resolve complaints
  8. Ensure special guests, like disabled people, elderly, children and VIPs, receive personalized services
  9. Coordinate and manage communication between guests and staff and follow up to ensure we resolve customer concerns
  10. Promote all hotel amenities, conveniences and programs offered
  11. Manage guest relations team (including Receptionists and Concierges) to ensure we comply with all standards and operating procedures
  12. Appraise team’s performance and produce regular reports
  13. Liaise with Housekeepers and Wait Staff to provide an overall comfortable guest experience
  14. Analyze customer feedback from hotel guestbook and online reviews and suggest ways to improve ratings

Requirements and Skills;

  • Proven work experience as a Guest Relations Personnel or similar role
  • Understanding of all hotel management best practices and relevant laws
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
  • Customer service drive with outstanding communication and active listening skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Leadership skills along with the ability to motivate a team into high performance
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Strong sense of responsibility and a professional presentation

 

Head waiter- Arusha

Responsibilities

  1. Work in close cooperation with the Kitchen to ensure a smooth-running operation
  2. Work towards the timely set up of the assigned Food & Beverage outlet, according to the meal settings and in line with the hotel guidelines
  3. Handle the welcome of arriving guests and their seating through at the restaurant
  4. Supervise restaurant servers to give high standards of service in terms of time, quality and personalization.
  5. Inspect table layouts in the station ensuring that they meet the standards set.
  6. Check and ensure the serviceability of equipment and furniture.
  7. Sell food and beverage so as to meet restaurant budgets.
  8. Take food and beverage orders correctly.
  9. Control the inventory of cutlery and service equipment allotted to the station.
  10. Ensure that staff meets hygiene and discipline standards.
  11. Ensure that the station is clean at all times.
