An upmarket safari camp in the Serengeti is looking for Waiters/Waitresses and Housekeeping Staff.
Waiters & Waitresses
Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience working in the hospitality industry
Fluent in spoken English and Swahili
Good reading & writing skills in English
Outstanding customer service skills
Honest, hardworking and reliable
Flexible to work in a remote location like the Serengeti
A certificate from a recognized training college is a bonus
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
- Perform all necessary tasks to serve food & beverage according to the protocols
- Communicate with clients professionally and provide personalized service to each guest
- Consistently monitor the quality of food & beverage being served
- Anticipate the guests’ needs and attend to guests’ requirements in a timely manner
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of all utensils and the restaurant area
- Responsible for all preparations before, during and after the service
- Liaise with the Kitchen to ensure that all the dietary requirements are understood and met
- Assist Camp supervisor with stocktaking of beverages
- Ensure minimum wastage, breakage and spoilage
Housekeeping Staff
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience working in the hospitality industry
Fluent in Swahili, Good command of English
Good reading skills in English, Satisfactory writing skills in English
Strong attention to detail
Honest, hardworking and reliable
Flexible to work in a remote location like the Serengeti
A certificate from a recognized training college is a bonus
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
- Perform all necessary tasks to prepare guest rooms and main area according to the protocols
- Cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing
- Prepare guest beds, towels, bathroom amenities and tidying rooms according to the protocols
- Strictly adhere to all Health & Safety Policies and proactively come up with suggestions
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of all room furniture and amenities
- Notify supervisors on any damages, deficits and irregularities without delay
- Liaise with the front-of-house staff to ensure that all the guest requests are understood and met
- Check stock levels and assist Camp supervisor with stocktaking of consumables
- Ensure minimum wastage and breakage
