Position title:     Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting to:     Management        

Duty station:       Arusha Coffee Lodge

Position summary:  Maintenance Supervisor is a professional who is in charge of coordinating  all the installation, maintenance and repair work at building or large complexes, Develops maintenance procedures and schedules. Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. Assist with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects. Maintenance Supervisor requires to be trustworthy and able to work well with little direct supervision.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Areas of Responsibilities:

Maintenance Supervisor Function:

Responsibilities:

●                                                                        Oversee maintenance tasks in a lodge setting, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.

●                                                                        Manage work schedules and supervise a team of carpenters, plumbers, and gardeners.

●                                                                        Ensure attention to detail in maintenance work and maintain the highest possible standards.

●                                                                        Respond promptly and effectively to maintenance emergencies, even during non-standard working hours.

●                                                                        Demonstrate the ability to work independently, making responsible decisions in the absence of direct supervision.

●                                                                        Contribute to reducing reliance on external contractors by troubleshooting and resolving basic maintenance issues in-house.

●                                                                        Implement effective cost management strategies and manage preventative maintenance costs.

●                                                                        Integrate environmental awareness into daily maintenance practices, reducing the carbon footprint.

●                                                                        Collaborate effectively with colleagues, demonstrating strong teamwork skills in the maintenance department.

●                                                                        Stay motivated and consistently perform duties effectively and efficiently.

Requirements:

●                                                                        Proven experience as an electrician with maintenance responsibilities in a lodge setting.

●                                                                        Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience managing carpenters, plumbers, and gardeners.

●                                                                        Attention to detail and a track record of delivering work to the highest standards.

●                                                                        Flexibility to respond to maintenance emergencies outside of standard working hours.

●                                                                        Ability to work independently, taking responsibility and making informed decisions.

●                                                                        Demonstrated success in reducing reliance on external contractors for troubleshooting tasks.

●                                                                        Experience in managing preventative maintenance costs and implementing effective cost management strategies.

●                                                                        Knowledge and integration of environmental practices into daily maintenance routines.

●                                                                        Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

●                                                                        Self-motivation and a commitment to consistently delivering high-quality work.

Education:

Minimum Technical Diploma

Electrical trade tested

Driv license

Computer Literate

Health and Safety courses advantage

 

Experience:

  • 5 years  + in the Hospitality industry especially in  Maintenance Supervisor.
