Description

The performance of the Barber of Seville of last Saturday, 28th of April at TGT R. Center  was  the 8th, the last, and the BEST!

I don’t know why it was the best.  Perhaps the cast knowing their part so well felt confident enough to add some words and movement of their own which worked a treat. The best acting for sure, and Cody, the music master, says the best musically too. This is the only of my operas which, having nothing to do back stage, I have been able to watch as a spectator. This made me realize how perfect, compared to all others, the acoustic in that venue at TGT is. The venue is intimate and looks deceptively small;  it can hold a much larger audience than it seems.

I hear that Fig and Olive will be reopening that restaurant bringing it back to its previous elegant exclusive looks with gourmet cusine. In my experience an ideal place for small,  concerts, plays and other such events. My mind is already racing to find one….but I am sure there are artists in Arusha that would liket to know about it.

I hear that several people found the price of 35 dollars for the performance, far too high. I am sorry and regret having been too greedy.  But to travel from Nairobi with a cast of 10, some of which needed visas, all of which need to eat and sleep. Plus transporting the whole stage, which many of you know as being substantial, plus the keyboard. It is not easy and not cheap. I hope you will understand.

The performances was so good, definitly my BEST opera;  one that even my husband liked to watch over and over again.  I wish EVERYBODY could have seen it.
