Since it started in 2013, Mesula (the Arusha Farmers Market host) has converted around 20 hectares of previously conventionally farmed land into organically farmed land.
In order to conserve the environment, solve food security problems in rural villages as well as to provide safe and healthy food to urban dwellers, Mesula has been organizing training for rural small scale farmers and small local food producers. The training focuses on how to grow organic vegetables and produce safe and healthy food.
In order to ensure that these growers and producers of local, safe and healthy food do also benefit economically, Mesula created the Arusha Farmers Market that links growers and producers directly to the customer.
The Arusha Farmers Market takes place every first Saturday of the month, and the next one is coming up this Saturday, October 7th. Come join us, support the community and get to know our local growers and producers and taste all the delicious products they will have for sale.
