A reputable tour operator is looking for safari guides.
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience working as a qualified safari driver-guide
Fluent in spoken English and Swahili (Spanish- or German-speaking skills a bonus, but not required)
Good reading & writing skills in English
Outstanding customer service skills
Honest, hardworking, reliable and punctual
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Training from a recognized tourism college
Expert knowledge of wildlife, environment, people and culture
TALA license
First Aid trained
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
- Perform all necessary tasks to serve as a host, guide and driver to the clients
- Communicate with clients professionally and provide personalized service to each guest
- Deliver solid knowledge on wildlife, birds, plants, geology, history, people and culture
- Anticipate the clients’ needs and attend to clients’ requirements in a timely manner
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of self and safari vehicle at all times
- Ensure familiarity of the route to be taken and instructions given are clearly understood
- Liaise with the wider team to ensure that the safaris are run smoothly
- Work as part of the team to promote the positive impact of the company
- Regular vehicle checks pre-, during and post-safari to ensure vehicle is in great working condition
