Field Agronomist

A Farm in west Kilimanjaro has a position open for a FIELD AGRONOMIST. This position will assist with raising high quality, profitable crops through the duties described below.

1. Collect data and generate reports from information gathered through scouting and tissue collection

2. Familiarize themselves with the stages of plant growth, insects, diseases, and weeds

in the area and how to deal with it

3. Assist with crop yield and quality monitoring

4. Participate in seed cutting monitoring and seed placement during planting

5. Assist with irrigation management by monitoring field moisture, irrigation & rainfall amounts on a daily basis

Demonstrated the ability to:

1. Communicate and transfer knowledge both verbally and written

2. Work effectively within a team environment

3. Get results by taking initiative, overcoming obstacles & finding creative solutions

4. Work independently with minimum supervision

5. Work in and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment
